Reddit Citation Radar

Find the Reddit threads AI assistants cite in your niche - and where competitors get recommended instead of your brand. Then get authentic, non-spammy ways to get into the conversation.

📡

Reddit is roughly 46% of Perplexity's citations and its appearance in Google AI Overviews grew about 450%. When AI assistants answer questions in your niche, they lean heavily on Reddit threads - so the threads below are where your brand is (or isn't) being learned as a recommendation.

Enter a topic above to scan the Reddit citation landscape.

Reddit Citation Radar runs a set of Reddit-scoped Google queries for your niche and returns the threads that actually rank for them, each flagged for whether it names you or a competitor. It also checks whether Reddit surfaces for the plain topic query and whether Google is showing an answer surface at all. Free, live search data, up to fifteen threads per run.

The queries behind the thread list

Rather than scraping Reddit directly, the radar asks Google what it already surfaces, because that is much closer to what assistants retrieve at answer time. Five query shapes run in parallel, each scoped to Reddit, alongside one plain query on the topic itself. Threads are deduplicated by URL, keep their best position across all five, and the top fifteen come back in rank order. Title and snippet text is matched against your brand name and up to eight competitor names.

Two signals to read before the threads

Above the list sit two flags worth more than they look. Reddit surfaces for topic tells you whether a Reddit result appears in the organic results or the answer surface for the bare query, which is the clearest evidence that Reddit citations in AI search are already live in your category. AI Overview present tells you whether Google is answering the topic itself. If both are true and none of the fifteen threads name you, the problem is not ranking, it is absence from the conversation the engines are reading.

Working the opportunity list

Each surfaced thread carries a suggested action, the reason it matters for citations, and a priority derived from the thread's search position, so the highest-ranking conversations sit at the top. Enter competitors and you also get a short note on where they are already being named. The list is capped at five opportunities on purpose: that is roughly a week of real participation, not a posting schedule.

  • Subreddit and thread title, linked to the live thread
  • Its best position across the five queries
  • Whether your brand appears in the title or snippet
  • Whether a competitor does

about the Reddit Citation Radar

Why does Reddit matter for AI search?

How should I engage on the threads it finds?

Answer the actual question first, disclose that you are involved, and mention your product only when it genuinely fits. Overt promotion gets removed and damages more than it helps.
