Export Google search results to CSV without copy-paste

Copying a results page into a spreadsheet by hand is slow and error-prone. SERP Snapshot captures everything on a Google search results page in one click and exports it spreadsheet-ready, either as CSV files or straight to your clipboard. An unobtrusive badge on the page confirms each capture at a glance.

What SERP Snapshot captures from a Google results page

Each section of the SERP is captured separately, so you get tidy tables rather than one long block of text.

  • Organic results: a clean rank table with real, redirect-unwound URLs, domains, snippets, and sitelinks as sub-rows. Ads and carousels are excluded from the ranking, the same way a rank tracker counts.
  • People Also Ask: questions plus answer snippets and source links. The first few are auto-expanded so you actually get the answers.
  • Related searches: the full list from the bottom of the page.
  • AI Overview citations: the domains Google's AI Overview cited, plus a one-click stat showing which of them also rank in the organic top 10.

How to export a Google SERP to a spreadsheet

SERP Snapshot fits the way you already work with Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Run your search on Google as normal.
  • Capture the results page with SERP Snapshot in one click.
  • Export to CSV: you get one sheet-friendly file per section (organic, People Also Ask, related, AI Overview), properly escaped so snippets containing commas and quotes never break your columns.
  • Or copy to the clipboard: the data is tab-separated, so it pastes into a spreadsheet with the columns aligned.
  • Use "Copy organic only" when you just want the ranking table fast.
  • Come back to earlier work from the local history of your last 20 captures.

Built for rank tracking, competitor research and client reporting

SERP Snapshot is made for SEO professionals who need search results in a spreadsheet. Use it to record where pages rank for a query, to see which competitors hold the top spots and what their snippets say, to collect People Also Ask questions for content planning, or to drop a clean results table into a client report. The AI Overview column shows which cited domains also rank organically, which helps when you are comparing classic rankings with AI citations.

Privacy: 100% local with zero network requests

SERP Snapshot is 100% local. It makes zero network requests and runs zero analytics. The only permission it asks for is "storage", which it uses to remember your settings and capture history on your own machine. Nothing you search for is stored anywhere else.

What SERP Snapshot does not do

SERP Snapshot runs only on Google search pages and nowhere else, so it will not capture results from other search engines or other websites. It captures the results page you have open, rather than fetching results in the background. Ads and carousels are left out of the organic ranking by design, and the history keeps your last 20 captures only.

About SERP Snapshot

Frequently asked questions

Is SERP Snapshot free?

Yes. SERP Snapshot is a free Chrome extension. It needs no account, and the only permission it requests is "storage", used to keep your settings and the history of your last 20 captures on your own machine.

Does the CSV open properly in Excel and Google Sheets?

Yes. Each section is exported as its own sheet-friendly CSV file, properly escaped so snippets containing commas and quotes never break your columns. The files open clean in Excel and Google Sheets. Clipboard exports are tab-separated, so they paste with columns aligned.

Does SERP Snapshot count ads in the organic rankings?

No. Ads and carousels are excluded from the organic ranking, the same way a rank tracker counts positions. The organic table lists real, redirect-unwound URLs, domains and snippets, with sitelinks shown as sub-rows under the result they belong to.

Can I export AI Overview citations from Google?

Yes. SERP Snapshot captures the domains cited in Google's AI Overview and exports them as their own CSV. A one-click stat also shows which of those cited domains rank in the organic top 10 for the same search.

Does SERP Snapshot send my searches anywhere?

No. SERP Snapshot is 100% local, with zero network requests and zero analytics. Your settings and capture history are stored on your own machine using the "storage" permission, and nothing is sent to any server.

Which search engines does SERP Snapshot work with?

It works with Google only. The extension runs on Google search pages and nowhere else, capturing organic results, People Also Ask, related searches and AI Overview citations from the results page you have open.
